Once again I struggle to maintain my focus.

As we made our way up Cave Dale, I was confident that my two guides would stop me cocking up this route (as I did on 21st Sept).

Chatsworth / Beeley Moor / Carlton Lees (Circular) - Derbyshire (Peak District) - 06/10/16 - 10 Miles

Same walk as 10th August, with a loop round Beeley Moor thrown in. Sometimes you just want to do the familiar.

Conic Hill - Stirling - (Scotland) - 30/09/16 - 6.25 Miles - Helen (Molly)

There was some well placed steps on the way up.

And some fantastic views of Loch Lomand whenever you turned round.

Helen made a bee-line for the summit. I decided however that what would be easy for me to get up, would be impossible for me to get down.

So after a minor tumble on the descent of what I had already done, I opted for my 'Monarch of the Glen' pose instead.

After the scenic route had continued along the West Highland Way, the heavens then opened up on us, with the walk eventually ending on a mile and a bit road section.

Loch Ard Forest (Sculpture Trail) - Queen Elizabeth Forest Park - The Trossachs - (Scotland) - 29/09/16 - 5 Miles - Helen (Molly)

Forest adventures for all the family (that's what it says !).

The first sculpture we saw was located in the car park.

This was the second and only other sculpture (?) that we saw !

The on and off rain was a constant feature of the day, but was not as dire as predicted by the weathermen.

And we did get this nice rainbow thrown in for good measure.

After losing our way on the well marked and colour coded path, we eventually made it to the Ben Lomand viewpoint. There we could see both the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle, whilst speculating over which mountain was Ben Lomand.

It was very hard to get a clear shot of the entire monument.

Before strolling round the walking section, we took a peek into Stirling as the rain clouds began to gather. Helen shut her eyes at this point.

Loch Katrine / Primrose Hill (circular) - Queen Elizabeth Forest Park - The Trossachs - (Scotland) - 27/09/16 - 6.25 Miles - Helen (Molly)

The morning rain finally cleared allowing us to set off around Loch Katrine.

On the way up Primrose Hill, I found myself being pursued by a mad dog.

Tree's round here have green fur.

Sir Walter Scott is so famous in these parts, they named a boat after him.

In some ways it was like being at the Sea.

Falkirk Wheel to The Kelpies (via the Forth and Clyde Canal) - Falkirk - (Scotland) - 26/09/16 - 4.5 Miles - Helen (Molly)

The Falkirk Wheel being the main driver for our trip to Scotland.

This is the world's first rotating boat-lift.

Eventually we reached the Kelpies just as the rain was beginning to start.

They are an incredible piece of artwork/modern design.

Getting bigger and bigger the closer you get to them.

Callander Crags - (Scotland) - 25/09/16 - 2.3 Miles - Helen (Molly)

As we weren't in Kansas anymore, it was definitely worthwhile checking the map.

The walk might have been a short one, but this was one sharp climb.

When we knew we were headed for the Jubilee Cairn, naturally we assumed it was from 2012.

Ben Lidi was behind us, with the Mentieth Hills also in the vicinity.

The rain began to pick up on the descent.
